Current Release Notes for your Xiaomi MIUI smartphone!
The latest major firmware version of the chinese tech giant Xiaomi is MIUI 12. They release their ROMs every week in a beta branch, containing all the latest changes and bugfixes! This weeks MIUI Developer ROM has version 21.1.14 and in this post we will show you the changelog containing all the latest changes, features and bugfixes Xiaomi has made to that firmware.
Since our custom ROM Builder is based on xiaomi.eu multilangauge ROMs, you will also find some additional notes from their site as well. Finally we will add our own patch notes, to give you a complete list of changes about the firmwares we provide on our ROM Builder!

System
New – Xiaomi.eu ROM for Mi 10T Lite/Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G (gauguin) with Android 11
New – MIUI 12.5 update [Redmi Note 8]
Optimization – Minor layout changes while turning Silent/DND mode on from volume bar
Optimization – Updated Android Security Patch to January 2021 [Most of devices]
Fix – SafetyNet test failed for unrooted devices
Fix – Broken icons in certain apps, like Edge and Spotify [Android 11 devices]
Fix – Google Setup Wizard was showing on first boot instead of MIUI’s initial setup
Fix – Custom actions in contextual text selection popups were missing [Android 11, and also Android 10 in certain apps]
Fix – The “Glow” charging animation was not working [Some Android 11 devices]
Fix – Due to error mentioned above wireless charging was not working while this animation was turned on
Fix – Unmute sound was playing from Quick settings/Control center even when disabled [Android 11 devices]
Fix – Weather info in the notification shade was not scaled properly with very small text sizes [Android 11 devices]

Known issue:
– If clean flashing, remove SIM card before initial setup to pass SIM card settings – this has already been fixed for the next release.
– Severe lag and audio issues on Snapdragon 855 devices. Workaround: Disable Voice Match and reboot.
WARNING FOR Mi 9 SE: After Android 11 update reboot to recovery causes reboot to Fastboot mode – TWRP disappears after update. To do update, boot your TWRP from fastboot mode, flash ROM and reboot to system.
This update is suspended for Redmi Note 9 4G/Redmi 9T. It’s expected to get MIUI 12.5 update on mid-or-late January 2021, with Android 11 update accordingly.
- Center Clock Mod suspended until we have fixed it for MIUI 12.5
- Updated Magisk to 21.2
