MiUI Notch Notification Mod

Smartphone brands around the world are flooding the market with Notch-equipped full screen phones like the Xiaomi Mi 8 or Xiaomi RedMi 6 Pro. You can hate it or love it, but it’s a fact that these notches are taking a huge amount of space away from the phones statusbar.
Most of the manufacturers had to make a decision about what to display on the small space left and they decided to remove the App Notification Icons!

Apple does not have this problem, since iOS does not feature App Notification Icons at all. But being on Android, these Icons are very important for most of the customers and there is many voices wishing them back.

Along with our ROM development and the MiUI Center Clock Mod we decided to modify the MiUI firmware to bring back the App Notification Icons for Notch Phones like the Xiaomi Mi 8!

Our Mod does not require any build.prop changes like ro.miui.notch = 0 !

    Enable Notification Icons

To show up Notification Icons on your statusbar instead of three dots MiUI has a setting called Show Notification Icons.
Xiaomi removed this setting for Notch devices !

You can still enable this setting via ADB or command line, even on non-rooted smartphones:
